Obama Gives Condolences to Jennifer Hudson and family

October 27, 2008

Senator Barack Obama issued a statement giving condolences to the Academy Award winning actress, Jennifer Hudson. Hudson and Obama both hail from Chicago, and she showed her endorsement for him and his  campaign by singing at the Democratic National Convention at his request.

Obama stated:

Michelle and I were absolutely heartbroken to learn about this unimaginable tragedy and we want Jennifer to know that she is in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. We also pray for the swift and safe return of her young nephew.

Friday, Hudson’s mother and brother were shot and killed; her 7 year old nephew Julian King is still missing. Today the Hudson family offered a $100,000 reward in the safe return of King.

Hudson wrote on her myspace recently:

Thank you all for your prayers and your calls. Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely.
